  • Sidenote: I went there twice. One time it was closed and about 3 years ago...it was so cold it felt they were trying to freeze out the guests...I took my friend for her birthday and remember it being ok- but remembered the cold more... I was in vegas and decided to try it out again as a holiday treat... This time: this place is trying really hard to be culinary but it a misstep that doesn't REALLY offer much that is stellar...I'm a foodie so I took notes because I am a nerd. A lot of reviews talked about so many dishes... But I can't remember so I made an attempt to remember. Let's first talk about their hours policy: 1. They stop seating an hour before close. Keep in mind or you will be turned away. There is one particular Latina woman at the cash register who was there my first time many years ago who gives excellent "we are closed" bitchface... Looks like she has lots of practice working there... Yes I remembered her from the 3 years previous lol. There was a lot of eye rolling from her and the male Manager when I mentioned the following... 2. The operator of the hotel is wrong. I called ahead to the property from the yelp link to ask what time the buffet closed that day and if I would have any issues. They told me 3pm as it was holiday schedule...with holiday pricing. No one mentioned last seating was at 2- so I missed it by 20 Minutes because I shot holiday/tourist photos at the Bellagio. 3. The Identity counter where I got my card before going to the buffet also told me 3pm too- they were wrong. It wasn't until I went down to complain that they mentioned the buffet stops seating an hour before and they do not run straight through to dinner ( unlike many other buffets) 3. Kurt and Brianna from the autograph club were very nice when I went to complain about all the misinformation I can been given on my buffet goose chase..I was told to wait until 5 dinner and I would be given 50% off. I should also mention my birthday girlfriend was going to join me but she had kids to tend and couldn't make the later time... Plans were rescheduled for later but yes, a birthday celebration was ruined by the lack of hour clarity...the buffet staff did take me to preferred seating which was nice but I did wait in line like everyone else to pay because I didn't quite feel like pushing the "invited" no wait lane THE FOOD: there is not way the buffet was worth $50... And I love fine dining... I only didn't feel ripped off because of the 50% off. Lots of the concepts just don't blossom...save your money for grand lux or something else high end middle of the road... Or just fine dine.. Stellar: duck wings a la orange, tostada chip with carnitas, specialty cheese dubbed in lavender and espresso with salami, gnocchi with Total misses: miso orange chicken tastes like it has been marinated in fanta, most desserts ( didn't have gelatos), goat cheese risotto was gross (and I usually love anything goat cheese!), kimchi marrow was just poor quality of marrow * I was bummed no lamb was offered. Pizza looked unappealing Just Ok: chocolate covered strawberries, peppercorn steak, duck fat potatoes, house made sausage Didn't try the seafood sauté station: very busy and didn't want to deal with the tipping grief of other reviews. Tea: I wonder why they don't serve hot water in a kettle? On a kind note: my server Carlos was attentive and it wasn't super cold in the place Warning on Line note: this Buffett is a little deceptive because they have TWO lines: one for paying and another whole large corral for seating
