  • What a let down. I am usually overwhelmed by how accurate reviews are here, in the case of this company creating a key for your vehicle, they have been nothing but an utter disappointment. My wife has been stuck without a vehicle thanks to the terrible communication and over promising provided by Deric and his crew. It started about two weeks ago when I used Yelp to request a quote. I initially thought, this is an amazing feature. Within an hour of sending my quote request with all specifications to my vehicle and the key, including the part numbers, I was responded to by the VP Deric. He told me they could do it same day if they had the key or next day if they didn't. He also gave me a great price that was about 25$ less then the cheapest quote I had received so far. I was pumped! I went ahead and reached back out and asked a clarifying question and got no response from Deric. This should have been the part of the story that led me not to pursue then anymore. Mind you, I had multiple other quotes where people said the could do it within a day or two, but Deric quoted me the best price and they had nothing but great reviews, which is what led me to working with them. The next day I called Deric to the number he provided and he didn't answer. I called three times throughout the day and left a couple voicemails, with no response. So I went ahead and called his office and setup the appointment. Much like Deric, they promised the best price and said they could do it same day because they thought they had the key in stock. I got a call from Deric later that day to confirm my appointment. It was funny because he asked, "Haven't I talked with you?" As if he didn't remember disregarding my email I sent him or the multiple calls or voicemails. Deric informed me that he did not have the key and he will order it and have it next day. I was OK with that, I understood and was fine that that they had a discrepancy with their inventory, no problem. Next day comes around and no call. I reach out to Deric, no response. Then 2 more days go by with no response! Again my wife and 2 kids have no way of going anywhere because we are still waiting on the empty promises by Deric and Pop A Lock. Everytime I call Deric and left a voice mail I never received a response. Not dependable or trustworthy. I went ahead and called the office and spoke to someone who was very nice and they apologized on his behalf and let me know I would get a response asap. The next day I got a phone call from Deric saying that all of a sudden my key is very rare and his vendor will inform him shortly of when they can get it. I asked him how long it would take to find out when he could have it and he said it would take up to 4 days to get the key, but I still asked him to respond to me when his vendor reaches out to him and he agreed to let me know. 3 more days go by with no response, so I reached out to Deric and not to my surprise the guy has no time to reach out to customers he made promises to. I called the office again and spoke to another lady, I gave her the whole story and she was very apologetic. She said that as VP, Deric is a busy guy who is in meetings all the time and doesn't have time to talk on the phone. This was a huge difference from how he initially put himself out there, considering he responded to my quote request and made a promise of when he could do it within the hour. I really thought this lady had my best interest at heart because she gave me her personal number and promised to respond to me by end of day, last Friday, of when the vendor will have the key and get it to them. I messaged her around 530 pm on Friday and she said she might know more by 6. Of course, no response past that. At this point I was fed up with how they kept dropping the ball over and over, providing empty promise. It is just not right to keep my wife and kids stuck at home because of Deric and Pop A Locks unreliability, so I ordered the key online and paid extra to have it overnight shipped. I received the key yesterday in the mail and then scheduled to have my car towed to the dealership to get it taken care of. If I would have just ordered the key myself from the beginning I could have had this taken care of over a week ago. It was a terrible idea to stick around and wait on them. I am upset with how disconnected Deric is with his business. Truly, I think Deric may have given me a price and then when he went to order the part, could not honor the price he initially gave me. So he was just hoping that I'd forget about it MD move on. Obviously I am compelled enough to give this long review because I don't want the next person to try to get an automotive key from them just to be waiting stranded. If you see this places promises for great service and the best prices on automotive parts, move on they will dissapoint.
