My dad and I went to Savoy last night. We had a groupon which provided 2 entrees and 1 dessert. I always check the reviews of a restaurant or business before buying a groupon. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was polite and friendly.
I got the stuffed salmon with whipped potatoes. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I thought it was phenomal. My dad had sirloin. He enjoyed it but he would enjoyed more if he remembered how he liked his steak. He also had gumbo. I did not try the gumbo but I had some of the corn bread that came with it. The corn bread was soft and buttery. We got chocolate lava cake for dessert. The cake was moist and almost fudgy. It was served with fresh cut strawberries(none of which were rotting lile you might get at eat n' park), chocolate sauce drizzled over the plate, and some strawberry ice cream.
On Mondays you can enjoy live jazz musicians while you eat. They need to update the speaker system so the vocals can be understood. However the rhythm section sounded beautiful. My only suggestion is if you are hard of hearing and want to enjoy a nice conversation, Monday night may not be the best time to go. However, my dad and I loved getting to enjoy some jazz music while eating this fantastic dinner.
