| - Loved my experience here for Queen's Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week (Jan 2017). Bistro La Bon had one of the best restaurant week menus out there, which included 4 courses for $35 per person.
For my first course, I started with the Kale Salad while my boyfriend had the Roasted Beet and Apple salad. I like kale, but I did think the kale salad was a little bitter and the flavors didn't integrate as well as I'd hoped. But not bad enough to knock stars off this review.
For the second course, I ordered the Grilled Spanish Octopus with roasted ratatouille, citrus aioli. YUM! If you like octopus (it's a little chewy). My boyfriend had the Crispy Avocado & Asparagus roll with sweet chili tamarind balsamic and he really appreciated the freshness in the texture and taste.
For the third course, we both ordered the Lavender Chicken over banana bread, walnuts, grapes, curry sauce. WOW! What awesome flavor combinations! The chicken was so well cooked and everything was just so satisfying.
For dessert, we also both ordered Bourbon Brioche Bread Pudding with house-made caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. HECK NO, I wasn't gonna share! A-Mazing.
We also each enjoyed a glass of red wine that the waiter recommended.
Also to note, it was easy to make a reservation (through Yelp) and we were seated upon arrival. Despite being restaurant week, Bistro La Bon wasn't crowded or noisy.
