| - I've had several different experiences in this store which is probably most peculiar to me. I've had great service AND horrendous service. I wouldn't consider myself a regular although I've been to both their locations (twice for each) and my shopping experiences hugely vary.
The first time I went in I was in awe of course because this store is really neatly decorated, has a modern flair to it and the employee greeted me with a smile and made me feel wanted, even when she was entertaining another customer. She was jolly the entire time and was knowledgable on just about every product I asked her about. I even asked her a personal question (she had striking jet black hair, I was curious hehe), and she wasn't weirded out about it thankfully! Great kid to deal with! I ended up spending well over the amount I intended (this store is a little on the pricey side, mind you), but I had no regrets as my dog ended up loving the treats, antlers, harness, and his new sweater!
Having had a great first impression on the store I came back. This time a woman with the most adorable dog was behind the counter. She was equally lovely and helpful and I enjoyed chatting with her. Her enthusiasm about dogs showed! Again, I bought my boy quite a few treats (she sold me on Treat Tuesday!) and he loved them. Both these experiences were worth 5 stars.
Now for the bad part :(
I hate having to say this but my last 2 experiences have been the complete opposite! I walked in and expected great service and got nothing. Not once did the guy behind the counter approach me. He looked at me blankly when I walked in and said "Hey, how are ya" and that's about as far as it got. He seemed unapproachable and looked like he was too busy to be bothered. He had a frown on his face the entire time and looked like he hated being there (a tad intimidating), so I decided to leave.
The last time I went in I was greeted with a smile by this lady who seemed pleasant at first. I had a few questions about toys and shampoo and as I approached her (she didn't offer me any help so I had to ask for it), she wreaked of cigarettes. It was very unpleasant and unprofessional, I had to turn my head away a few times so I wouldn't inhale the stench. She gave me short answers and as she walked away from me to the counter, I saw her roll her eyes. What ever did I do to turn her off like that? But that was it for me. I stuck around for another 5 mins. looking around (this store is many ways bigger than the other store), and waited for her to say something else to me but she was just staring into space. She didn't even notice her little chihuahua (I believe) potty in the corner. As I walked out she still didn't say a word and she continued gazing far away. I did not purchase anything the last 2 times even as I intended to do so going into the store.
I thought I would love this store but my last 2 experiences had me shaking my head. If not for the first couple store visits, I would have offered a lesser rating! The store and products are infectious but pricey. Overall a good place to shop, would have given 2 1/2 stars if that were an option, but nonetheless a business well deserving of 3 stars.
