| - My Beloved's birthday is always both an exhilarating experience for me; as well as, a journey back to the date of when my one and only love was born on this earth.
Hence, the trouble I go through to spend the entire month celebrating such a significant date. And picking the right place to celebrate is certainly a key component to successfully celebrating this auspicious event.
I had made these reservations weeks in advance, and reserved a booth.
I paid the added fee to prepare the booth for her birthday. That's the reason why there were visible rose petals in the pictures, which were strewn over our table in a decorative fashion.
We ordered the 4-course experience, which opened with a delectable combination of fresh vegetables, meats, and delicate croutons. When dipped in the cheese filled pot, the accompanying mixture made for heavenly introduction to our meal. The cheese wasn't too overpowering.
Then came the salad, which tasted fresh and crispy. And the house dressing added a wonderfully delicate balance.
Afterwards, the mixture of meats and seafood arrived. Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Lobster, and Ravioli. By now, the cheese pot had been substituted with a new pot that had a special broth to cook the meats and seafood in.
This is typically where the negative comments regarding the lack of flavor stems from. The Bouillon, even though it is advertised to be full of flavor, can be emaciated (weakened) by the cooking (and boiling process). The food, when boiled at the prescribed duration, still doesn't quite allow for the mixture to seep into the meats. It comes off as being bland.
What we did was cook it much longer than prescribed, and this allowed to the flavors really sink in. We discovered this early enough in the process, and it truly improved our overall experience with this cooking process.
After the main course, came the dessert. We had the pure chocolate, along with the sweet additions. This came with cream puffs, berries and other delectable items, that when dipped in chocolate, would send our palates soaring! Sublime and Divine are not enough superlatives to describe our palate's experience.
As noted by other seasoned reviewers, the Melting Pot Fondue experience is not as authentic as that which one could experience in Switzerland or France. I couldn't agree more, since I, too, have enjoyed Fondue in both those locales.
However, as far as this local interpretation of a cuisine 9000+ miles away.
I believe that they've done a marvelous job of creating a fabulous representation.
Without the long TSA lines, and an even longer plane flight that detracts from this moment's experience.
Certainly the moment, and the meal that we both experienced, were unequivocally unforgettable.
