In fairness to the remainder of the review I was informed at checkout the property will be going through a remodel (no date shared) which should address many of the cosmetic room issues. However, remodeling the property without addressing the hospitality of the staff (minus the person who checked us out) and guest safety issues is a waste of time.
So to get to it...VERY substandard accomodations. I won't go into detail on the cosmetic issues and will instead post pics and let those do the talking. The "personal safety issues" which are deal breakers in our minds are below...
- the phone in the room did not work. I called on my personal cell phone to ask what I needed to do to turn it on and was told they knew several rooms had non working phones and they rotated them between the rooms based on customer request. I then asked how they notify guests of emergencies and was told to listen for "the giant gong that would sound" to let me know there was an issue".
- on our first night we heard loud talking outside and thought it might have been a sketchy looking group of homeless guys we saw near the parking lot on our way in. I got up to look outside and check on our rental car when noticed the sound was loud because sliding window was cracked open on both ends and not secured.
- every night when we returned from dinner (between 9-10pm) there was no one on the desk in the lobby to prevent anyone (i.e. the sketchy homeless guys near the P/L!!!) from entering the hotel and going to guest rooms.
This whole stay makes me question the oversight Wyndham has regarding their properties as I cannot believe this to be reflective of their brand which was supposedly rated very high.
