| - I woke up with a bad stomach flu while visiting my nephew in Twentynine Palms, CA. Unfortunately I had a work trip the following day that I couldn't miss, and knowing it was a 24 hour bug, I decided to suck it up and make my flight back to Wisconsin from the Las Vegas airport. Well after driving 4 hours and making it all the way to the boarding walkway, I ended up passing out from dehydration in front of the entire plane crew and passengers. Both the Delta crew and airport staff were SO helpful and understanding; they gave me the option of the hospital or this urgent care, and I didn't want to go far, so I chose Code 3.
I was hesitant about going to an urgent care inside of an airport (I hadn't heard of it before), but this was hands down the BEST urgent care experience I've ever had, including those outside of airports. No wait time, easy registration, and very welcoming staff. I ended up being there for 6 hours due to all the tests they had to run (I was truly a mess that day), and they let me relax, get fluids, and sleep while I dealt with that god-awful virus. They really made what could have been one of the worst traveling experiences of my life a little less awful.
Moral of the story - work trips are not worth it, and Code 3 is a great urgent care in a very convenient spot for travelers.
