  • What a disaster! I gave them 1 star because, after all of our headaches, we DID receive our rental payments on time and with accuracy.....but that was about it! Despite the great sales job that the guy did, stating that, "the key to being a good property manager is to always answer the phone", we received no responses from them when we truly needed to contact them about our property. They employ horribly unprofessional managers to communicate with their home owners, don't return phone calls and arrive 30-45 minutes late for appointments! These guys do not keep their promises and don't follow-through on customer issues....at ALL!!! A couple of examples" 1. We set an appointment to do a walk-thru of our property after they managed it for 8 months. We were told that there was ONLY 1 time slot available over a 4 day period. We arrived and waited for nearly an hour for the manager. We finally just knocked on the door and introduced our selves to the tenant and then were chewed out by the property manager for contacting the tenants without his presence??? What??? 2. We did a cleaning job that was "white-glove" worthy prior to turning over the property to Turn Key, yet they charged the tenants $250 for "cleaning services"......then the house was filthy dirty when we took back possession after 1 year. We were told by Turn Key that we couldn't keep any of the tenants deposit for cleaning since they paid that up front. Turn Key offered to clean the property for a fee to us. What????? 3. Despite repeated requests to Turn Key to find out when the final walk-thru would be with the tenants (so we could arrange for carpet cleaners and movers), Turn Key repeatedly failed to return our calls and gave us over 7 dates that they "thought the tenants" would vacate the premises. Then, despite it being the 1st of the month and us calling, emailing and texting to find out how we could get our keys back, they didn't return our calls until 10:30 pm, stating that the tenants were still in the house and that there was nothing that the managers could do about that. 4. Once the tenants finally vacated the home, they left property in the home including jewelry and a piano. We were told that the tenants would be coming for the property and despite 8 phone calls to Turn Key (that were never returned) to find out what time the tenants were arriving for their property, we never heard back from Turn Key....until we were returning our U-Haul and the tenants were at the house to pick up their stuff. I had left the phone in the car while returning our truck, so we didn't receive the calls. Upon arriving at the house after returning our truck, I was verbally accosted by the property manager on my front steps. I politely asked him to set an appointment for the tenants to pick up their belongings (trying to do the right thing, even though we were legally entitled to retain the property). The property manager continued to yell and scream at me for an additional 20 minutes even after I asked him to leave and call me for an appointment. 5. Once the appointment was set for the tenants to pick up their belongings, the property manager called and texted me repeatedly (at least 14 times) to make sure the tenants could pick up their stuff....accusing me of deliberately not being home the first day that the tenants came (even though they had never told us what time they would be there....despite repeated attempts by us to find out what time we would need to be home) 6. We are still waiting for the money back that we put in "deposit" with Turn Key for repairs, as well as the additional rent for the extra days that the tenants were in residence past their notice. 7. The tenants broke their lease 1 month early and the Property managers talked us into allowing them to do it with no financial penalties (even though it was in the rental agreement signed by the tenants and the property managers). They did a good "sell-job" on why we should be "the good guy" and let them out of the contract. Then the tenants did not leave by their notice date AND left the place a complete pig-sty......and Turn Key did nothing to help us out and, in fact, treated us as the enemy...even though we were providing them with an income. I would HIGHLY recommend going with another Property Management company if you are looking to rent out your home!!! You will get the royal treatment during the sales call, but will soon find out that these guys are just looking to make some money and will not give you the customer service that you deserve after paying them 10% of the rent, plus an $800 "finder's fee", PLUS the first month's rent. PS.....that "finder's fee" is supposedly going to outside reps who will work hard to get your place rented...instead, it is going directly into the property manager's pocket!!!! There were MANY other issues during our business relationship with Turn Key, but these are the highlights.
