  • Centra is something new for the residents of Aurora and Newmarket. There is no other Asian supermarket in this area at this scale. I love the variety of Asian ingredients you can find here. The store offers a lot of products which are hard to find in a usual grocery store. This store also had a pretty good meat and fish section. They also have live seafood which they can cut and clean in front of you. Recently they added a BBQ duck counter as well. Their hot food section also has a lot of affordable meals. The only con I have seen here is the customer service. As some others have noted the staff are not very inclined to talk in English. I have had bad experiences at the hot food counter. The first time I went in and was standing in line for about five minutes. When my turn came the staff completely ignored me and instead asked the person next in line what they wanted. On top of that they served me super salty three sauce chicken. I only discovered it after reaching home and it was basically inedible. When I called up, they said you should've tasted it before ordering for takeout and kept repeating that if is spicy for you we can't do anything even though I told them quite a few times it's salty not spicy. The manager on the line just did not want to accept it. So the next time I went to get hot food, I asked them to give me a sample to taste. This time the lady behind the counter just completely ignored my request and started packing the food as if I had already ordered it. I had to repeat about five times to get a sample. Apart from the staff being rude sometimes this store is pretty good especially it you don't have to interact with anyone. I wish they just had a self serve hot food counter. I wanted to give a 2.5 but rounded it down to two.
