  • On January 16th 2016 we took my wife's car in for an oil change to Surprise Ford Service. my wife's car has an aftermarket TCI shifter on it that has to manually be unlocked from park. We informed our service Rep. of this procedure. This is not the first time we've had our car serviced at Surprised Ford. I was service provider assured us he understood how the shifter works and would let everybody know on the procedure to get it out of park. So having left our Mustang at Surprise Ford on previously other accessions we left with no worries confident the fact that we would get the same service as we had prior to this visit. On returning to pick up our car my wife went to get in the car and drive at home well I paid the bill, she found the car in the Lane in neutral instead of Park and didn't really think much of it except for the fact it was odd! She drove the car home and parked it for the remainder of the weekend. We usually drive my Truck (a ford F150 bought at Surprise Ford) on the weekends. On Tuesday morning she got up drove the Mustang to work. Driving to work my wife called me an informed me that there was something wrong with her car it was not shifting in and out of park smoothly. And kept locking up when going in and out of park I told her I would take a look at it apon arriving home. When I got my car I realize she was correct the car was getting hung up going in and out of park. I immediately took the car to the dealership talked with the service manager who said they would keep it overnight because they were getting ready to close and look at it first thing in the morning. I Stress to them the importance of this car to me and my family! As it is a family heirloom inherited by my wife from her father! They assured me they would take very good care of it call me in the morning. By 1 o'clock the next day I still not received the call! I called surprise Ford and asked about the status of her vehicle. The service advisor I talked to told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and it was exactly the way I brought it in. I told him it was not the way I brought it in and he should know that cuz I demonstrated how the car worked when I dropped it off with my wife! He told me they had their transmission specialist look at it and there was nothing wrong! I told them I would be right down to pick up my car. I arrived at the dealership to pick up my car my service provider was not too polite when giving me my keys I said thank you drove the car around the front of the dealership went in and ask for the dealership manager. I asked him to step outside ( not wanting to have this conversion in front of their other customers ) and told him what it happened. after how we just had my car in there for 24 hours only to get informed that they could find nothing wrong with it. If any damage was done I must have done it! kept locking up when going in and out of park I informed him that I was very dissatisfied with the service. He asked if there was anything they could do and I said that he would need to let me know that! He apologized and said he was very sorry that I felt that way and that I've been treated unfairly and it he didn't really know anything about transmissions and he would talked to the service manager. I didn't know if they could make it right that they should talk about it and let me know! At which point I thank him for his time shook his hand and went home. An an hour later I I received a call from their service manager offering to have their transmission specialist look at my car! I asked if it was the same transmission specialist who had already looked at my car and said nothing was wrong? He said Yes (with a great deal of hesitation)! I asked them why I should bring my car down and leave it for another 24 hours and have the same service tech look at it again? Or did he not look at it the first time? At this point I was highly upset I explained to them that I didn't feel the need to bring my car back to the same specialist who said there was nothing wrong with it and wait around for 24 hours for me to call them to find out about my car! instead of them calling me to tell me what they found out about my car! They informed me that in fact they called me to inform me about the car at 10 a.m. I inform them that they did not I had to call in at 1 p.m. to find out about my car after not hearing from them! He assured me that he was told that I was called at 10 am!! I offer to come down and let them see my cell phone to see what calls were made on! He told me that his service manager had told him that he had called me at 10 a.m. I informed him that "well somebody was lying to him". I told him that I would be taking the car to a transmission specialist to have it checked out! and I would pay out of pocket for any repairs done! He asked me to let them know of any repairs needed and they would see what they could do. I talked to two different MUSTANG specialist even going as far as the caller repti
