My wife and I are heading out of town tomorrow, and I asked her to have my favorite (and most expensive) shirts dry cleaned so I could look good for her. Our normal cleaner requires a little more time that we had, so we tried Del Rey.
"Drop off by 9, ready by 5," it says right on the front window. My wife even went so far as to double check with the employees. This will be done tomorrow right? She was assured that they would be done tomorrow by 5.
Well naturally, they aren't ready. My wife stopped in at 3:30 on her way home to check on my shirts. They wouldn't be ready until 5. We found out that they don't do any cleaning there, but have a driver take it to another location to be cleaned. So around 6 I go back to pick up the shirts. First they have me stand there for 5 minutes while they look for my shirts. The waiting is a big deal, the fact that they can't locate my clothes quickly has me nervous. A business like this should have a system in place.
Then they tell me there was a mix up with the driver and they don't have my shirts. They tried to call, but they took down our number incorrectly (11 digits instead of 10, who makes a mistake like that?!?) My wife is enraged and my $90 shirts aren't going to be available for my vacation. Wonderful start.
I'm going to stick with a cleaner that actually does the cleaning themselves. Might not be as cheap or as quick, but nothing worthwhile ever is.
