| - Pros:
I don't feel that I overpaid since I used a Groupon that cost $20 for an hour massage.
The office was clean and comfortable.
The lotion used was nice and non-oily, non-greasy.
Patricia addressed the areas I requested in my massage and she did make some recommendations at the end of my session for things I could do to help alleviate my headaches.
Overall, it was a relaxing massage.
Cons:
It was rather inconvenient/difficult to schedule an appointment. All calls go through an answering service and instead of a call back I received a text message telling me that all appointments had to be scheduled via email and I was given the email address. I then had to email requesting an appointment, she emailed back with possible dates and times, I emailed her with my choice and she emailed me again to confirm. It was WAY too much of a process to simply schedule a session!
I was unsure where to go once I was inside the building. There was no one to greet me, no waiting room, etc. I was walking around poking my head in doors when I found Patricia motioning for me to come into the room.
Once inside I had to fill out 3 pages of information. I noticed on the door there was a sign stating you should arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the paperwork. Well, once you are there it is a little too late to tell you that. The requirement to be there early was never communicated in the emails scheduling or confirming the appointment. The most upsetting part of this is that my massage started about 10 minutes late because of my having to do the paperwork and that 10 minutes was deducted from my massage time! I looked at the time when my massage was finished and it was 1:58 p.m. I had been scheduled for a 1:00 massage but it didn't start until 1:10.
I had requested firm pressure and, compared to other massages I have had, the pressure I received here was far from firm.
There was a glass of water on the table in the room and I wondered if I was to drink it, as I am always given an entire bottle of water after other massages, but Patricia said nothing about drinking it so I wasn't sure. I left it there and drank a bottle of water that I had in my car.
Recommendation:
If you are looking for economical, get the Groupon but only expect a relaxing massage, not a firm/deep tissue to really work out knots, etc. and make sure you arrive 10 minutes early if you want your whole hour of massage time!
