| - 4.5, really. All they're lacking is a dance floor, odd for a music venue, but I heard someone say that they're going to put one in. This is a bomb venue for music. The interior is much like its sister across the street, the Tip Top Tavern - art deco meets rustic cabin with open rough hewn honey colored wood beam ceiling. I couldn't stop looking at it. Lovely. The lighting is soft, the stage lights are not glaring, which gave me the impression that the band found it easier to feed off the enjoyment of the crowd since they could see us, forming a feedback cyclone of blues energy. On a frigid night when you force yourself to go out and be social against your natural urge to hibernate, it's a great thing when it's truly worth it. The service was top notch, from the ebullient greeter at the door to the smiling bartenders, although they were out of several of the better choices on their tap list. Overall I can't wait to go again, and this is another jewel in the cap of the growing northeast side.
