I had heard OHSO was dog-friendly but I was completely struck by the degree. The patio is quite chaotic but if you're a dog-lover, it's a happy chaos. I should have known that it would be super-crowded on a Sunday. Luckily, I only had a dog with me and I was willing to sit at the communal table. So, no wait. I loved all the little touches they did to make dogs feel welcome _ from the paper water bowl with the dog's name written on to the wrapped homemade dog treats. The only thing is with so many dogs, everybody wants to sniff. I had to keep one eye on my pooch to make sure she wasn't pulling her leash and possibly tripping someone.
I love the ambience. The food gets almost as good marks. I went with the "breakfast bowl" which had scrambled eggs, cheese, guacamole, potato hash and pico de gallo. It was very solid but not knock-your-socks-off. I was expecting some melted cheese, not sprinkling of grated cheddar and white cheese. Next time I go, I will have to order something more heartier or carby so that I feel really full after. But it's a pretty good brunch deal as it includes either a beer or a mimosa.
I felt weird doing valet for just myself and a dog. So I parked at the nearby Safeway and walked not quite a block. I preferred it over waiting for the valet in a very crowded lot. But I will definitely be back--dog in tow.
