| - BEWARE--WORST EXPERIENCE! WORST SALESMAN.
I dealt with Vince
First time buying a bike, which I let him know.
1. was overcharged $200 for the bike, which was refunded after I pointed it out (took 30 minutes to get a refund)
2. chain fell off minutes after buying the bike resulting in a fall. One of the guys who worked at the store saw and brought me back in, and Vince who sold me the bike fixed the chain. I wish I would have dealt with the gentlemen who brought me back into the store as he was professional and seemed to actually want to help me.
3. next day, go to ride my bike but the chain had jumped off again-- walked the bike back over to the store to get it fixed
4. after getting fixed i rode my bike to work. something is definitely up, loud noises, hard to get speed and traction. I'm a 30 minute ride away from cyclemotive, I can barely move the pedals when going uphill.
Once I make it to the store, Vince asks if i know how to use the gears, maybe thats the problem. Yes I think anyone at this point would be frustrated with how condescending and unprofessional this store is. Once he got on the bike he barely went a couple feet because of how "unsafe it was to ride". He mentioned something must be wrong with the frame. He took the bike to the back and 20 minutes later came out and told me he forgot to tighten something when he fixed my chain the second time, resulting in the bikes problems. he offered me his sincerest apologies.
5. I've had the bike for about a week, and have been having severe back pain, my physiotherapist suggested perhaps the seat height, level, position and handlebar height need to be adjusted. After speaking with a few friends who have purchased bikes in the past, they told me the store should adjust everything for you, one said curbeside took 20 minutes making sure the fit was right. Cyclemotive did none of that.
After calling cyclemotive and asking if thats protocol they told me they don't let a customer leave without adjusting the seat.
** right before posting this review I wanted to call the store again and speak with a manager about this whole debacle--maybe it can all be resolved! Well the manager is in fact Vince, the careless, unprofessional salesperson I've been dealing with the whole time. In fact he told since that is their only location there is no one else to contact about the issues except him.
I asked him why he didn't adjust the seat for me and make sure the bike fit. He said he thought it seemed okay, and that my bike is a cruiser. When I pointed out I had just called five minutes earlier and they said they don't let costumers leave with out adjusting the seat for them, he said he had adjusted the seat height and fit the bike to me.
Well Vince don't I need to be on the bike for you to do that? He said its not scientific, and to come back in ( for the fifth time in one week ) so he can adjust it.
When I mentioned the reason why I'm so frustrated is because of this resulting in genuine back pain, he told me I should have mentioned that I've had back pain in the past when buying my bike. After a lot of yups, and nopes out of him I guess customer service kicked in and he told me that he just wants me to be happy and to come back to the store so he can adjust the bike to fit me. The only way I will be happy is to go to a different bike shop.
I will never be returning to this store, this was an awful experience. This is my first ever bad review, and hopefully it saves someone from making the same mistake I did - purchasing my bike from cyclemotive.
Will be going to Curbeside tomorrow.
