:: Fitness Center review ::
Gotta stay pumped and buff even when away on a Las Vegas biz trip.
Use of the health club is complimentary when staying at the SLS casino (with resort fee).
Open from early morning to 8pm. Wish it would stay open until at least 11pm, as many like myself working a long day at the convention center along with meetings afterwards and client dinners really need a gym that has access later into the evening.
Clean and spacious layout. Plenty of treadmills and cardio machines that seemed well maintained.
Not a fan of the dumbell selection and weight training equipment here. Dumbells were on the light side and need to be over 50 lbs (at least up to 70), and a smith machine with plates is needed, along with a cable rack for pulldowns. Missing were many of the basics like a rope for triceps work, and an E-Z curl bar. The weight training section is also placed in a small area in the back like an afterthought.
Some of the loaded rack weight machines were passable and some were not all that good. Just not really enough overall to get in a good workout if you are looking for a solid weight training session and are an experienced gym person. What they really need to do here is eliminate half the cardio stuff (which were all empty when I was there) and add in more free weights, benches, and racks. What gym doesn't have at least one bench press rack?
If you're the type who are looking to squeeze in a few cardio sessions to burn calories and some light weights to stay toned though it's ok.
