| - I decided to go to Nailology based on the 5 stars they have. It was a disappointment..
They have great selection of colors here. The shop is new, spacious, and has a nice layout. Other than that, everything is bad from the moment I stepped in. They have a fridge full of little water bottles in front, but did not offer it to any customer.
I made an appointment for gel color change with Rosie. I came on time, picked out a close, and waited for 10'. One of the ladies came up to me, without introducing her name, said she would get my old gel removed. I thought she gotta be Rosie. She was standing while setting up the acetone to remove my gel. She did not try to make a conversation with me the entire time. Instead, she turned to her coworkers to complain that someone took her chair, and started playing on her phone. It started to feel awkward after a while as she was acting like I wasn't there at all. Fortunately, she was not Rosie.
Rosie finally came out and thanked me for waiting. I felt a relief and hoping for a great gel set. After we were done with two coats, I realized that the color was too light and transparent. I asked her if she could put a darker brown as the third coat. Rosie (and another manicurist who just walked by and jumped in our conversation) insisted that if we did four coats, it would come out very nice. I said ok as I hope they knew their color. It came out not as dark as I wanted and too thick. Some part on my nail is thicker than others. The nail tips are bulging like there are little pockets of gel hanging on the nail tip. Couple nails have cotton strings stuck on the gel. This has never happened to me before.
I don't know how the shop gets such high review. I have gone to at least five nail shops in the area in the past years, and this is the worst one so far. I don't like it when manicurists try too hard to talk to me or ask me personal questions. But not talking to be at all, not asking how my day is going is BAD. Feel like they don't care whether I will come back to their shop. I will not go back.
