| - We stayed here during the SEMA Show (a large convention). The property is ideally located for business travel, especially if you are attending a show at Las Vegas Convention Center or the Sands. If you want to use the Monorail, I also highly recommend staying at the Flamingo.
The best parts of the property are the pool and public grounds, they are simply beautiful. I also felt the staff was friendly and attentive, though the check in process was very long and there seemed to be lines everywhere. Gambling at the casino was average, plenty of $5 and $10 tables, a wide variety of slots.
One other big reason to consider this property is its proximity to the big casinos (Mirage, Bellagio, Aria, Caesar's, Paris, Venetian). You can easily walk to these facilities, yet the price is literally 1/2 as much as Caesar's or some of the other ones.
There are some compromises when you stay here... The rooms are old and many of them are dirty. My bed was extremely comfortable, and clean, but the bathroom had old tile, worn out fixtures and some dirty / musty tile. Considering I was in my room for about 5-hours a night (just to sleep), it was perfect for the rate I paid. Another compromise is the amount of walking you may end up doing. The elevators are widely spaced, so I had a good 1/4 mile walk from my room to the buffet / food areas.
My final analysis is that this place is perfect for those on a budget that plan to be out and about most of the time. If you want rooms with tons of amenities and beautiful appointments, this is probably not for you.
