For those of you not old enough to remember this kind of sales approach please listen up. Years ago people used to want to buy a car and if 5 people went into a dealership the 5 buyers paid 5 different prices for the same vehicle. The sales team was conditioned to wear down the customer and negotiate the best deal for the dealership. Some people thrived and others got burned. This is kinda what Outrank is doing. They offer some massive price for marketing and the price I got was likely different than the others listed here on Yelp. I was quoted anywhere from $2500 per month plus an "advesite" and a setup Fee. This service fits perfectly into the Rogers world of business...monthly subscription FOREVER. Although these guys don't make you sign a contract and you can do a minimum of 6 month the price points are out of control. If you show the slightest bit of interest ... well all of sudden those prices drop. Of course the reason for the massive monthly fee... a fee I pointed out which was larger than most businesses monthly rent... I asked why they did not offer a free trial period to see if it actually works. "trust us it really does work" Plus we cannot offer anything free because we actually need to pay for the advertizing from Google ... who they are essentially buying this space from. However, rogers routinely offers free cable tv for months on a trial basis ... don't they have to pay for the programming from all those channels? Apples and oranges maybe.... I am guessing Rogers has purchased a massive block of advertizing at a bulk rate and are reselling it to small businesses for massive profits. Once you get to the SILVER package they are willing to give you this for $1000 per month and waive the Adversite fee but still charge 70 bucks a month to maintain that advesite. This advesite is essentially a mobile site with little to no data or media other than your business phone number and address .. No video or pictures etc. Paying 70 per month for that is pretty ridiculous. In truth, I would truly go out of my way to not purchase anything from Rogers but I thought I would give them a shot and not surprised at the pricing when it finally came. I was hoping for a pleasant surprise but alas ended up with what I expected. I try to have an open mind with these guys but really they just keep proving themselves in a negative way.
