  • This is the best vet not just in Pittsburgh, maybe in the entire state. The staff is amazing (Cheryl and Ashley!) and Dr. Larrimar is the best vet I've ever been to. I had an absolutely horrible experience at the emergency vet off Campe Horne when my cat got a life threatening urinary tract blockage. He ended up in intensive care because they did not monitor him after the surgery. I would go visit him and he was in horrible pain, covered in pee, and I thought he wasn't going to make it. The same thing happened again a few months later only this time I took him to Franklin Park. Totally different experience. Within a day he was fine and they had to keep him there for a week because I went home to Texas for Christmas. They let him out of the cage to wander around and paid attention to him to make sure there were no complications and this time he was FINE. More than fine! It was a night and day different experience. Dr. Larrimar takes time to listen to you. He has caught the most minor details in my friend's dog's behavior to help diagnose him with a neurological defect - something that may specialists at other places missed. Dr. Larrimar and his staff are caring, customer friendly, and highly experienced and I would never dream of taking my pets anywhere else - even if I moved far away I would make the drive to see him.
