  • The Lucky Brand store in Summerlin is kinda amazing--the staff here has taken common everyday rudeness and elevated it to an art form. I've lived in Portland and LA and spent several years traveling in London, NY, Paris and a couple other world capitols and the folks that work here are some of the most arrogant, condescending and sneery retail workers I've ever run across. Talking to them for a few minutes you might be forgiven for thinking that they had personally invented denim. It's almost like they're doing it on purpose, like they're the Denim Nazis, or perhaps the entire store is working on some sketch comedy material. Without a doubt they practice at home on relatives and unsuspecting pets. In a sense they are saving you money: instead of traveling to Brooklyn or Milan to have a jarringly awkward retail experience, you can drive twenty minutes from The Strip and get it here in the Southern Nevada. One last shoutout to the Ladies of Lucky (LOL). One has to marvel at their sangfroid! Their coolness under fire! Puff Daddy could walk into this store and the women would leave him a sniveling, emotionally-wounded mess twenty minutes later. I watched a Lucky worker follow an African-American customer around the store for five minutes and when the customer complained, the Lucky worker ACTUALLY MANAGED TO TURN THE TABLES and make it about herself. Customer: "Why are you following me? You're making me uncomfortable." Lucky Worker: "Oh my God. I am offended that you would even say something like that to me." Customer: "It's just weird. I wish you would stop." Lucky Worker: "Ma'am. Please. No one has ever said anything like that to me in my entire life. I AM OFFENDED that you would even say something like that to me." At any rate, I bought some $99 jeans on 8/26/2016 and returned them two weeks later because they didn't fit and was refunded only $86. When I asked what was up with the $13 difference, the Lucky Workers said, "It's a Bogo." Me: "What's a Bogo?" Lucky Worker: "It's a B-O-G-O-H-O." Me: "I don't know what that means." Lucky Worker: "Buy One Get One Half-Off." Me: "It doesn't say anything about that on the receipt." Lucky Worker: "Sir, it's a BOGHO. You're getting a discount." .... This went on a few minutes. At any rate, ALL of this is a First-World Problem, really not a big deal to me personally, but this store could use some B.T.I.H.C., aka Basic Training In Human Courtesy. Or perhaps some L.I.H.N.T.B.A.J. Lessons In How Not To Be A Jerk. Also, their jeans are no good and overpriced.
