  • The Wisconsin State Capitol is SUCH a thing of beauty, our city is so lucky. I love strolling through the capitol when I am in the area, or even just across the grounds. The lawn is meticulously groomed and the flowers beds that are found on all four sides are just gorgeous. This is such a nice place to wonder through and learn a little bit about our capitol as well. Tours are available, or you can go on your own. The architecture inside and out is just stunning and will have you gazing much longer than one would imagine. During the holiday season, a large tree is erected in the rotunda. It is taller than any other tree I have ever seen! Very beautiful, and always open to the public. I remember going to see it as a child and just being mesmerized by the lights and sparkling ornaments. Definitely a great place to bring the kids! In the summer, lots of action takes place around here! Festivals that surround the capitol square, concerts on the square, and the weekly farmers market. The Wisconsin State Capitol is truly a gem, and if you haven't had a chance to explore it or take in it's wonder yet, you really should!
