There is a problem and they really don't care!
Booked 4 nights to attend Spring Training games. I had meant to call them to alert them of our very late arrival (past midnight), but apparently, they called me. It was one of those speed-talking ones, where it took me five- to seven times of listening to decipher what they were saying! I gave up and called. Turns out it WAS the Quality Inn inquiring on my arrival. The guy said it wasn't a problem to arrive late.
Arrived at 1:30 am and had a speedy and pleasant check-in, that's when the pleasantry ended. The room wasn't that bad, but between being tired, and having a cold, I just wanted sleep. While the bed was fairly comfy - the room (#241) obviously lacked a decent maintenance program. TV didn't work, oversized fluorescent curly bulb hanging 5 inches out of bathroom lighting fixure gave a scary impression. I noticed the toilet tank top hadn't been wiped in a while and could see a few sticky shampoo bottle rings. We noticed the front door play (about ¾ of an inch) when closed and I made sure to lock it at night and check it when leaving. I didn't want to dwell or complain - We had games to get too!
Came back late Saturday night and the door was open. I slowly opened it, and noticed the house keeper had come as the beds were made up. I immediately checked the backroom for "visitors" none was found, but the rings were still there. I called the front desk (by the way, there are no instructions anywhere on how to call the front desk - took a guess & dialed O (operator). Had horrible static and asked her to call me back hoping for a better connection - Not going to happen. Told her the door was open. (I think they could review the key use to verify this). I notice my son's watch still on the tv/dresser stand & the beer still in the fridge. She seemed concerned and said she'd talk with housekeeping and maintenance. We had to fiddle with the wires for a while but got the TV to work. PS - The "free wifi" is completely unsecured and suggest you don't use it.
Sunday, Headed out to more games on Sunday and when we returned that night my son (30 years old, 6'5") got to the door first. I asked him if the door was locked and said yes, then he noticed the amount of play in the door jam and he just pushed it open with his foot! Not a kick, with his heel on the cement deck and the ball of his foot on the door, he just moved his foot downwards. Room cleaned (rings gone!) and nothing missing. When the housekeeper came around on Monday, we elected to have her not come & clean. Monday afternoon returned and the door still loose. When I checked-out Tuesday AM I mention this to the front desk and they seemed indifferent to it. No apology, just said he'd "have maintenance look at it" response. I asked if there was a note from when I called alerted them to this problem - "nope" as he handed me a copy of my $600 room bill.
LESSON LEARNED! Stay away from this place. There are other local cheap hotels nearby. Please consider those before settling for this place.
