| - I love the Hilton/Embassy Suites chain. But this hotel is very outdated, the floors are filthy, and the rooms smelled, as my kids said, "like old people and cigarettes". Everyone had dirty feet and dirty socks from the floors. My one-year-old who was crawling around was the dirtiest. I gave him a bath before bed, and one before leaving, his legs, feet, and clothes were filthy.
We checked in on Monday before our designated time since there was a room available. Tyler was helpful throughout our stay.
I chose this particular hotel for a few reasons. It was close to the Squaw Peak Hilton where we were checking out of, they had a good room rate, we enjoy the managers reception Embassy offers, and they serve breakfast.
Our keys took a few tries to work. When we went into the room it was insanely hot. My husband noticed the air filter was pretty dirty. Maintenance came out later to replace it for us. It made little difference as the A.C. was set to 78°. We didn't sleep under the covers and woke up sweaty. The beds here are small and make it difficult for 2 adults to fit in one bed.
Our room was by the pool which is 8' deep. You couldn't hear the noise outside which was the only plus of the room. To go to the bathroom you have to go through the bedroom. This made it hard for my baby to sleep having people walk in and out of the room.
We went out for dinner and returned for the manager's reception. I was so disappointed. There was maybe one cantaloupe cut up, some grapes, and a bowl of broccoli. I came up just before 7 with my daughter while my husband watched our boys. The bartender said he would be right with us so we sat down at a table in the bar. Three separate groups were served before me. When I was acknowledged I ordered two whiskey sours and an apple juice for my daughter. The bartender brought our drinks and put one in front of my daughter. I slid it to my side and let him know my daughter is only 12. He was like "shhhh" and walked away. I drank my two weak drinks and left.
Breakfast wasn't much better. The spread was on the thin side. There were maybe 10 other people in the dining area. Most of the crowds had left the day prior. My over easy eggs were cooked well however, and the pancakes were made to order. There just wasn't much of a selection.
I came home with a headache from the cigarette smell of the room. It got into our clean clothes so those will have to be re-washed. I do not recommend this hotel, and I personally will not return.
