  • I have mixed emotions about Phoenix. The espresso drinks are better than 'Bucks, -- the house roasted beans are good but but still not as great as Illy or Lavazza to my taste -- not enough crema. I do like that it's a locally owned, independent. However, I always feel like I'm sitting in a Goodwill -- the "vintage" vibe is off putting. Of course, I realize most people (75% grad. students) like if for just that reason. The barisitas are pleasant, inked up art student types --- no problem there. Two pluses: they have a SUPER selection of tea, inclusing one with rose petals. Also the music is most eclectic.
