After a soft opening a couple of weeks ago at three stores, Target opened most of its Southern Ontario stores yesterday, this one included.
This store was much better stocked than the one I visited in Milton on opening day. However, there were still a few empty shelves, again, the electronics section being the most noticeably empty. At this store though, there seemed to be a little more of a focus on Canadian product at the entrances. Right inside the mall entrance was a large display filled with Blue Jay's paraphernalia.
The store was a zoo when I stopped in late in the afternoon. Lots of gawkers looking to see what Target is all about. Some complaints about pricing...I guess people think they magically transport to the US when they walk through the doors.
I didn't end up buying anything. Not because I couldn't find anything or any deals, but because I forgot my Red Card at home. No need to spend money that day when I could go the next and save 5%. Sure I could probably get an adjustment later, but based on all the confusion going on with new staff and all the customers blindly traipsing through the stores, I'd rather wait.
