| - Surgery was one month ago and results are great.
Had previously written about my pre-op visit and one month ago, I had the hip replacement.
While my previous visit when this was Presbyterian Orthopedic about 13 or 14 years ago left much to be desired in my mind, this time was the opposite.
Got to the hospital a bit early but they at least started the normal protocols and when the time was ready, I was wheeled back to the O.R.
Anesthesiologist did his work and the next thing I remember was waking up about 2 and 1/2 hours later and shortly thereafter being taken to my room.
Nursing staff was in numerous time checking up, assessing pain level etc and then about an hour and a half after I had gotten to my room, the Physical Therapist came by and wanted to know if I wanted to go for a walk to the nurses station and back.
I said sure and was surprised to find that for the first time in over six months, there was not paid in the hip joint. Not to say the incision did not hurt like whatever but I was amazed.
Constant care and the next morning, they decided to release me and made arrangements for a visiting nurse and physical therapist to visit my home. Only snag in the whole thing was someone forgot to initial on of the discharge charts so had to wait for that event though they had indicated they were going to to that but in the medical field, if it not documented, it did not happen.
Recovery has been great and still a little tender around the incision any I've progressed from a walker to crutches and now to a cane, I'm a lot more mobile that I have been in years,
This was a 180 degree change from my last experience.
