| - I normally would just rate with the stars and move on but I feel our experience needs to be noted.
We, my boyfriend and I, stayed the night Monday December 26th spur of the moment because my boyfriend had an early morning tee time at the resort with some buddies. Being Arizona residences, we could have stayed at our own house in north Scottsdale but figured staying the night would make more sense rather than waking up extra early to drive an hour to make the tee time. After booking the hotel we then found out that the golf reservation was caneceled. Of course our hotel room was non refundable because it was less than 24hr notice. When we talked with the man at the golf shop on the phone about the reservation he wasn't very helpful at all and pretty much just told us to book a different time (the only thing available was a 1:28pm ... 6 hrs later than the original tee time). Needless to say we then were going to have to pay extra to get a later check out time or just hang around the hotel till it was time to golf (if you have been there, there isn't much to do.)
Fast forward to when we could check in at 4pm for the room on the 26th, the check in line was a bit of a wait but the lady at the desk was helpful and very kind. The only thing I didn't understand was why we still had to pay the resort fee of $49 with tax $55.00, when the water park was closed till February. The lady at the desk told us our resort fee included a free appetizer which we thought okay that's fine we will have one sent to our hotel room while we get ready for dinner. HA no. You have to go to the lobby bar AND you have to get 2 drinks in order to get the appetizer. Annoying.
Fast forward .. the room was fine. Bed was comfortable. Pillows could have been a little harder but overall fine.
Morning comes and we order room service, whoops! Apparently a breakfast burritos, children's eggs and oatmeal cost $65.00! Woah! That was a bit of a surprise. Didn't know there was that much tax added on lol.
This all just seemed to be one thing on top of another but the final issue was the topper.
Our tee time was 1:28pm for 4 of us. We started on the course late which that was fine we didn't mind but if we knew we were going to be hassled by the ranger and not even able to finish the 18 holes we paid for, we may have made it known that we were unimpressed. The first time the ranger came around he talked to the group in front of us as well as us stating that we needed to "keep the pace of play going". Unfortunately their was NOTHING we could do because the group in front of us had just tee'd off. We brushed that one off. Then come 5:15pm when the sun was still shining and not once when we checked in was it stated come a certain time, we will be getting our off the course. The ranger came over removed the flag on the green and said course is closed. Not in a nice tone not like hey guys so sorry suns about to go down. Nothing. He could have said beat it and they would have gotten the picture. The ranger was also rude to them earlier in the day when we came around the first time.
My boyfriend IS NOT one to complain at all but when I picked him up and the first thing he says is, I'll never golf here again, you know it was unprofessional and a major buzz kill for a lack of better words.
