| - We took our 7 year old daughter on Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad's POLAR EXPRESS, which runs from mid November to around Christmas time. It is a 2 hour train ride to the North Pole (1 hour there, 1 hour back), where kids get to ride with Santa's elves, sing Christmas carols, and have hot cocoa and a cookie with their parents. As the train approaches the North Pole, there are lighted displays and a Santa sighting in town. As the train leaves to go back home, little do the kids know that Santa will be making the rounds inside the train shortly thereafter, pleasantly surprising the little kiddies (and their parents) who thought they had left Santa behind! Santa gives all the kiddies a little 'jingle bell' souvenir, after the kids tell Santa what they want for Christmas. I hear that the elves, conductors, Santas, etc. are all volunteers, and the heart and soul they pour into the roles they play are heartfelt and then some ('Elf Sue' was a RIOT)! I thank them from the bottom of my heart for all the joy they help spread to our kids! I'm 51 years old, and I actually shed a tear of joy seeing how joyfully happy my little girl was as we reached the North Pole, and then when she saw Santa!
