Went to the waterpark yesterday and it was almost 100°. There were not many cars in the parking lot and unfortunately we found out that the Southgate was not open. The weather was sweltering in this meant that we had to walk nearly a half a mile to the waterpark as we went through the amusement park.
The walk was torturous. There weren't many people in the pool and we enjoyed about for five hours of cool enjoyment. The only thing worse than a walk to the pool was the walk back to the car after swimming with a load of wet towels. We voice*complaints to a couple of the parking please but all we got were excuses to why that Southgate was not staffed. The only thing more lame than the excuses we got was the sarcasm from the employees.
It was so hot there were a few people in the amusement park going in the water parks. It would seem logical to me on this kind of day that you would have the water park entrance is open. But I guess logic in running a park to accommodate your customers is outweighed by the greed of money.
My children love Carowinds. Personally I could take it or leave it. The price of food there is outrageous. The food prices make movie theater popcorn prices look like the Dollar General. $14.95 for a substandard burger and french fries. I get that Carowinds is an amusement park. But the food prices are ridiculous.
My family of four and my in-laws have had season passes for the last few years. This amounts to about $600 between the six of us. Now I understand that this does not include the food we buy and the drinks by when we are at the park. We are beginning to believe that our money might be better spent On a different kind of vacation for the family.
