| - I chose this restaurant due to the proximity to my hotel and the splendid reviews on Yelp. I was not disappointed.
The atmosphere here was nice. Light mood music was playing and the décor was elegant. There was a large bar surrounding the kitchen area, but I opted to sit at one of the tables.
I started off with the duck confit salad. I wanted the roasted beet salad after spotting it on the menu listed on Open Table, but unfortunately, it was discontinued. My substitute duck confit salad was pretty amazing, however. The duck had a nice crispy skin on the outside and the inside was moist and tender. They paired well with the cherries in the salad and there were ample amounts of the duck and cherries to go with the greens and fennel, however.
For my entrée, I opted for the grilled salmon with roasted vegetables (I had cauliflower). The execution was spot on, although it was a little boring. The salmon was nice and crispy on the outside and very moist, but cooked, in the middle. I would have preferred a little more acidity in the dish, but there was a touch of acidity provided by the diced tomatoes topping the fish.
The chocolate mousse tower was absolutely brilliant. There was a white chocolate/dark chocolate exterior shell encompassing a chocolate mousse interior that had some strawberries in the top of the tower. Molten white chocolate was poured over the tower for a neat effect. The dessert tasted great and the mousse had a wonderful consistency.
The only weakness was my server Jose. He was lackadaisical and was more interested in chatting it up with the people around me except me. If he had been just a little engaged, I would have given this place a five star review. Too bad since it would have been nice to give five stars for my 100th review.
