  • I have read the reviews here and want to give my experiences I had with SDMI. I have been going to SDMI since the early 90's. I always went to the Tenaya location for all diagnostic tests and have never had any bad experiences and the staff was always pleasant and professional. Recently, I went to another radiology practice that my doctor recommended for an open-sided MRI because I am extremely claustrophobic and I now realize this place was linked to his practice. This radiology practice lied to me telling me they had open MRI's. They didn't, but I had driven from N. Las Vegas where I live, to way out in Henderson past the auto show mall and wasn't going to waste my time and gas going back home. I have to be sedated with valium when I have an MRI, and they gave me the medicine but it didn't have time to work on my nerves. I also needed dye injected into my system and it took two males in radiology there at least five pokes with the needle because they didn't know what the heck they were doing. I let my doctor know there was no way I would ever return to that place and I should have insisted he follow my wants and referred me to SDMI in the first place. I always leave a "good ole boy/girl" compliment when I go somewhere and get great service. I recently found out that SDMI has a location closer to my house across the street from Centennial Hospital. I have gone there in the past month for a Mammogram, Catscan, and MRI and received great and professional service from everyone there. Peter, front desk check-in, is very nice and professional. I left compliment cards each time I went there. I also got Valium for my MRI procedure and it worked because I had to arrive early for my appointment to take the medicine and give it time to kick in. The radiologist asked what type of music I wanted to hear from the headphones they put on you, and being 65 years old, I always choose "oldies". She also placed a dry wash cloth over my eyes so I wouldn't freak out being enclosed. She asked me numerous times how I was doing and her soothing voice made me feel less anxious. They accommodate you in both SDMI locations I have visited. I have no objections to wait for my radiology reports/films, because the radiologist has to have time to read them and get the results to your doctor. People, remember, you are not the only person there for testing so have patience. I have nothing bad to say about SDMI, but if I did, I would let them know by either comment card, written correspondence, or telephone call. A business can't fix something if you don't make them aware of the issues you have. I have heard comments that the Tenaya location is like the DMV waiting room, but again like I said earlier, you are not the only sick person waiting for testing anywhere. Sorry so long but I want to explain in detail.
