  • So, after finishing my 30 days for $30 introductory month I decided to sign up for a year of FFF. At this point I've been to many classes, and can say that this place will WORK you OUT. I don't think FFF is for everyone... I would recommend it (and do) to relatively fit people, who are at least somewhat active. As well it's for people who want to be pushed to work harder, who are OK with class/group settings, and want a different kind of work out each time they walk in the door. Needless to say, if you want to work hard, and feel spent by the end of a work-out this might be the place for you. Pros: + you WILL be worked out. hard. and relentlessly by the trainers + Every class is different = fun times, & no training plateau + The staff is super friendly & welcoming (until you get into the class that is, then they are unrelenting & unforgiving, but also sometimes funny) + great atmosphere, the community is pretty welcoming too + boxing bootcamp Wednesdays. Who doesn't like to hit stuff for catharsis? + Most exercises are body weight exercises, with not-so-heavy 5lb hand weights, or 10lb med ball, weighted sticks, 10lb kettle bells thrown in + Only three instructors means you get to know them (and their training style) and they learn your name (they certainly try) + They correct poor form regularly + They willingly demonstrate all exercises + 2 minutes from Wellesley station. + they will help you modify if you have physical limitations or injuries. But of course you have to let them know beforehand + The owner and main instructor, Tony, is actually ex-military, so he can actually call his classes boot-camps, unlike most "boot-camps" out there these days. Cons: - There is a lot of yelling by the staff in the class. This is their "thing." If you don't like yelling or can't not take it personally, don't go. And they WILL single you out if you're clearly slacking, or chatting with friends... not if you're out of shape, I'm out of shape & am nowhere near as strong/fit as some of the regulars and they haven't singled me out 'cause I'm working as hard as I can. - Bare-foot exercise. No shoes in the training room. If you have any toe/foot/ankle issues, you may want to re-think coming here. I don't care for exercising bare-foot, and see little benefit of it as someone who is a health-care provider. - In class exercises are done as demonstrated, with no modifications allowed, unless you have spoken to the instructor before-hand about injuries, as previously mentioned. - I find the studio cold, and leave with a raw throat. I give this place 4 stars because they are honest about what they offer and are great at providing it. It is NOT a suitable workout choice/place for everyone, but where is?
