We have been staying at the Trop for many years, ever since the Stardust was imploded. We come to Vegas at least 2X a year. There have been a few occasions over the years that made us unhappy but overall it's been positive. I do miss what I call a real sports book though. The little counter with a couple TV's is not what I consider a sports book. I've never placed a bet at it since they took out the nice one they used to have. That being said, we enjoyed our last trip out there in April for a slot tournament. I have to say the party on Saturday night is one of the best ones I have ever been too in Vegas for a slot tourney. Our previous long time casino host retired and we were a little nervous about a new one but we have a very awesome casino host, Beverly now. She tries very hard to give us what we ask for in a room. We have a specific area of the hotel we like and we almost always get it. Thank you Beverly. One thing that I don't like is that the pool area is closed for half the year. I can understand the pool being closed for "winter", ha-ha, but the grounds and garden around it should be open all year. Many times in March or November it is nice enough to sit outside in the grass, especially for us Alaskans, but the area is locked up. I wish that could be changed. We have never had an issue with the cleanliness of the hotel and the ventilation in the casino is very good, not smoky at all. The staff have always been awesome and many of them know us by name. There are plenty of food options there now as well. The trop will continue to be our go to in Vegas.
