I am very surprised by the recent postings citing negative experiences at Camelback Mazda/Subaru. They do not at all reflect the experience my wife and I had in recently buying our new Mazda. This is our second Mazda from this dealership. We wanted to continue to have the outstanding service that we have experienced over the last five years. The sales staff that we worked with were very knowledgeable and above all always treated us fairly and honestly. Our contacts were Josh, Jake, and Joe; they were all great. We did a lot of preliminary research into the model we wanted and in trying to establish what a fair price was for the car. We also had a very good idea regarding the trade in value of our old Mazda. The fact that it had only been serviced by Camelback Mazda made valuing it easier for them. We were well aware that, in general, people often have negative car buying experiences; but we were well prepared. We knew the car, prices, mark-ups, availability of special financing, what add-ons we wanted and didn't want. We did our homework and we were ready to walk if we couldn't negotiate a fair deal. We made it a point to engage in conversation with as many of the staff as possible and that seemed to communicate to the salesperson and his managers that we were serious and resolved to get a fair deal. So, if you are well prepared but can't get the deal or respect you want by all means go elsewhere. But for us, we're happy we didn't.
