After reading about LCL's opening on Yelp, I convinced my co-workers to stop by w/ me after a delicious lunch at Cowboy Ciao the other day.
We were unenthusiastically greeted by the gal behind the counter as I quickly noted the vintage ice cream parlor decorations and items for sale along the wall. We proceeded to check out "the goods" (ie the laced ice creams, of course!) and tried to chat w/ the worker but she wasn't very friendly. After guessing & asking which flavors in the tubs corresponded to the flavors listed on the board (the tubs weren't labelled), I sampled the green tea matcha w/ liqueur (they also have one w/o) and vanilla almond. The amaretto in the vanilla almond was very pronounced so definitely try it if you're into almond liqueur. As she was scooping the sample, I noticed the ice cream had a very odd crumbley texture (probably due to the alcohol content). It kind of weirded me out but the ice cream is actually very creamy. I don't mind paying $3.75 + tax for a full scoop, but because the ice cream has an odd texture and it was the girl's first day on the job, I probably only got about 1/2 a scoop's worth.
Maybe I'll go back once I hear/read about other people having better experiences.
