| - Let's lay this out first. You're not coming here for an Authentic Mexican Experience. You're not coming here for locally-sourced ingredients and a seasonally-sensitive menu. You're not coming here for fine dining and a pampered experience. You're here for cheap margaritas (on Tuesday and Thursday, INCREDIBLY cheap margaritas), and colossal portions of white-washed "Mexican" food that's brought to you by servers that are either bored to tears or frazzled beyond sanity.
That said, it's really good white-washed "Mexican" food. The recipes are simple and time-tested, honed over decades of refinement and incremental changes, and that lack of seasonality means the kitchen gets very, very good at them. The dishes will dance in the back of your mind, tugging gently at you, whispering "You're remembering that obscenely giant Nachos del Rey, and wanting more, aren't you? You feel the shame of wanting that instead of the stone-ground organic blue corn chips and authentic imported Oaxacan cheese, don't you? You wicked child..." You can have that again. It's waiting....
