I'm a big fan of aquariums. I love learning about all the different species, seeing them. So when my husband suggested we visit Ripley's it wasn't even a question.
I was surprised to find out the aquarium had evening visits, instead of the usual timing of attractions closing at 4-5pm. Late night was perfect for us! That meant we could visit other attractions and still see the aquarium. The staff was super nice, and when we were buying our tickets, the cashier was actually super helpful in saving us an extra $5 per ticket.
I loved the "tunnel" where you are underneath the tanks. I thought the moving sidewalk was a fabulous idea! Avoids congestion. I actually wished there were more of them around because certain exhibits did have a lot of people standing around.
I LOVED that you could pet the horseshoe crabs, sharks and rays. But I'd pet them before. But my favorite would have to be the cleaner shrimp. Remember Jacques from Finding Nemo? Think a bunch of little Jacques. My hands have never felt cleaner.
The only thing I think that could be improved would be the information signs. Some were non existent... some were video screens. The video screens were annoying because you had to wait for the whole thing to cycle through. I'd prefer a plaque.
Definitely a good place to go on a date, or with your family... or even by yourself.
