I visited LasikPlus for a consultation. I did not proceed with them for the procedure.
I visited all 3 options in Wexford for consultations. My first consultation was horrendous and made me question the entire thing. I came here 2nd.
The facility was clean and welcoming. The staff was intelligent, educated, sincere and normal (something my first consultation lacked). The entire process went smoothly and efficiently. Each employee that I worked with was pleasant and professional. They made me feel at ease.
The doctor was extremely thorough and spent as much time as I needed answering all of my questions. I felt confident in them and the procedure by the time my appointment was over.
I had already ruled out 1 of the options in Wexford after the consultation, but had 1 more place to visit before making a decision.
At the end of our appointment, I was encouraged to schedule a procedure date and was told I could cancel if I decided to go elsewhere. I was given clear instructions and left feeling good about the experience.
A couple days later, I visited the 3rd option in the area. I had an equally good consultation.
The deciding factor was the laser used between the 2 businesses. The other business had a newer more advanced laser. The laser also had a much larger treatment area. The treatment area determines things like halos etc. The ophthalmologists I spoke with and friends with previous eye experience recommended the other place as well. They work hand in hand with your personal eye doctor which I found reassuring and convenient. All 3 businesses had very similar prices as one another.
When I called to cancel my appointment, it was assumed that I was upset over the cost. I never mentioned cost, I was actually shocked. It was less expensive than I was expecting. However the employee that answered kept asking me if it was the price and told me she could offer me her friends and family discount if I kept or rescheduled the procedure with them which would save me $500. It made me a bit uncomfortable, I felt like I was haggling with a used car salesman instead of a surgery center. After I hung up, I knew I made the right decision.
I had PRK done exactly 1 week ago with a competitor and have been extremely pleased with my experience.
