| - In the land of car dealers we all have our doubts regarding the honesty and integrity of dealers. I took a chance with Peoria Nissan regarding a 2014 Altima. A price was offered online that was extremely low. I emailed the sales person and asked for the total out the door cost, with tax, title, license and other fees. He responded with a great price, one that was "too good to be true", but I said I'll roll with it.
I followed up with an email saying I would be out there at 6pm to meet with him. Then the follow up email stated they only had 2 cars for that price. Alright, I'll still head out and see what happens. Bait and switch on my mind !
I drove 45 minutes and arrived at 6:05pm only to find that DJ the salesperson had already left. Strike One.. So his counterpart discussed the car options with me and let me know what I already figured would happen, "we sold the last model at that price a little while ago". Strike Two.
Ok, so I said let's see what the next model up would cost... He sits down and proceeds to tell me that there are additional dealer fees that total $2,700 associated with a purchase. So the email I received with the out the door cost including all fees was false, and $2,700 off. Strike Three...
Shame on Peoria Nissan for falsely representing their out the door cost for the Nissan Altima. You live up to the typical car dealer stereotype of "do whatever it takes" to get them in the door....
