Great bakery that we visited after searching on Chowhound. Definitely lived up to expectations. After seeing all the goodies at the bakery, my friend Fei went a little crazy. Ended up buying 4 soft pretzels (perfect soft, chewy texture with just the right amount of kosher salt)- she said it's the best she's had. We also got some bread and carrot cake. Freshness is definitely the key here, since they make everything fresh (you can see employees pushing out carts filled with breads and pastries as you are in there shopping). Pastry-wise, got half a cherry and half a blueberry streudel. They really are 2' long (you can ask for halves at half the price). The apple is $4.50, the cherry is $4.75, and the blueberry is $4.95. They ask you if you want any sugar sprinkled on yours. We opted not to. When we brought the goodies back, we had the streudels with coffee. Thes streudels are great, with the right amount of flake, and not overly sweet filling. The cherry was especially nice with big cherry chunks of tartness. The prices here are great, and you can't beat the freshness!
