| - I recently moved from MI to AZ and purchased a home in Anthem. I had two accounts in MI, one Citizen Bank and the other Chase. When I sold my MI home the funds were deposited into my Citizen Bank account, which is not an AZ bank. So when I purchased my AZ home (purchase agreement Jan 15, 2016) it was a quick closing (January 22) because I paid cash. So I immediately went online to transfer the funds from Citizen Bank to my Chase account. Everything looked good until the morning of closing when I received an email the day before closing saying there was a hold on the transferred money until January 28th!
So I stopped by the Chase bank at 20215 N Cave Creek Rd in a real panic in hopes they could help expedite the process. I was greeted at the door by a young man and told there was a long wait to speak to someone and to have a seat. Come to find out, the delay in seeing someone was due to one employee called in sick and the other was at training. That left Mandy to help everyone waiting. I asked to talk to the manager (Shawn); but he was already tied up with another customer. I finally saw Mandy and she quickly assured me that she would do whatever she could to resolve my issue; but explained her hands might be tied due to corporate prevails what she could do on a local level.
Mandy clicked away on her computer, made calls, went to her manager twice and had me log into my Citizen Bank account. All the while the wonderful manager Shawn was involved. Still not resolved, until they suggested I use Mandy's desk phone to call my local Citizen Bank branch to verify funds, once verified I gave the phone to her and the magic began. The manager then went to his office, made a call and came back with the great news that Chase was able to issue me the cashier's check needed for closing.
Although the Bank was short staffed that day, Mandy and Shawn treated me like I was the only customer in the bank. Their personal and professional approach will make me a lifetime, loyal Chase Bank customer.
Thank you Mandy and Shawn and thank you Chase Bank! I was able to close on time and have now lived in my new home for six weeks.
