  • I take back most of the ugly things I said in my previous review of City Smoke. I'm not sure if they're under new ownership or what, but they've seriously stepped up their game! On my most recent visit, I met my husband and a friend for lunch kinda begrudgingly. But, I was so pleasantly surprised, I had to come back and update the review. Service was attentive and the food was delish! I had a veggie plate with cauliflower, acorn squash, brussel sprouts, and grits -- each was perfect. Next time we're looking for an uptown dinner spot before a show at Booth or Belk, we'll definitely consider City Smoke! Hopefully, their beer has improved as much as the food and service.
