Duckworths at Ballantyne was my top favorite restaurant. Moved down the list to third. Great wings, fajitas, BBQ, and awesome Philly Cheesesteak. This is until they decided to expand. We go out of our way because the closest restaurant to us is 30 minutes away. The last two visits were terrible. There is a difference between charred and burnt and cooks need to know this. At the Uptown location our wings literally were burnt and had terrible burnt taste. My husbands fajitas were burnt also. The onions were totally black and the "charred" chicken taste so burnt it was inedible. Too expensive of a meal for this. Waitresses should refuse to deliver food to the table. We don't like to complain or return food but it has really become necessary when our food is being delivered so burnt it is all you taste and miss the great grilled flavor. Our last visit was the Park Road location and our wings were burnt again. So black and charred all you could taste was burnt flavor. My husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the burnt taste overpowered the great grill flavor. We again hate to complain but decided to just let our server know because we hate to see our favorite restaurant start falling in the ranks. Sad, but expansion tends to do that to a good restaurant. "Tool many cooks in the kitchen spoil a good meal" might just be the phrase for the fast growing chain. We didn't get them to recook anything or expect any compensations, just want Duckworths to stay on top and get chefs to get some training from Ballantyne location. Note: There is a fine line between charred and burnt and too many times you are crossing that line.
