  • I've had a Kinetico system for 10 years (soft water and R.O.) Just after my warranty expired on the R.O. the bladder (membrane) went bad and I was told it would be $400.00 to fix or I could buy a new system. I spoke to the General Manager who tried telling me that no other system on the market at Lowes / Home Depot would last a year on the membrane, when I tried to inform him of a friend of mine that has had the Costco system for years (never replaced the membrane) but he kept talking and told me not to interrupt him - I asked him if he knew who the customer was? Obviously i don't think he has any customer service skills. When I look back at all the money I spent with this company, I know I was never informed of the life expectancy of the bladder/membrane. In addition filter replacements are very expensive. I lived in an older home and the soft water while it helped some did not do away with all the hard water / calcium. Again, that wasn't part of the sales upfront. I'm posting this, just to state if you have money to keep throwing at their service for a product, in my opinion, is average at best - have at it. I just bought a R.O. at Costco (Watts Premiere) that included all the cartridges for $200, easy install and filter replacements are inexpensive. In my opinion Kinetico is HIGHLY overrated - I personally will never due business with this company.
