| - Pappadeaux has been around here for a long time. It is a "chain" restaurant with locations in eight states. I would say it's a high-end cajun seafood restaurant with a substantial menu. I remember coming here a couple of decades ago, and we finally returned with my family recently.
We got seated at a round table for 5 and our hostess was very gracious and attentive. After looking at our menu for a while, we opted to get the large order of crispy fried alligator bites. After a few minutes, we upgraded to the Appetizer Trio, with mini shrimp & crawfish fondeaux (this was EXCELLENT), calamari with octopus and fried alligator.
It was seriously too much food. After eating our complimentary bread and working our way through the appetizer trio, most of us were already stuffed! Still, we ordered our main entrees:
* Pasta Mardi Gras - FANTASTIC...omg
* Shrimp & Scallop Orecchiette Pasta - WOW, a stunner
* Kids fried chicken & shrimp plates
Seniors get lunch prices on entress ALL DAY, so my mother took advantage and ordered a sampler platter off the lunch menu. We verified on the bill and yes, it was the lunch price.
Overall our service and food was excellent. We paid dearly for it: bill came to $260 after tip. That hurts the wallet let me tell you, but the food was really worth it. I literally had leftovers for three nights in a row!
Will most definitely come back, after I save up for a year or so ;)
