| - My friend turned me on to this salon as she is a loyal customer to Andrea, the owner, and followed her from her previous salon to La Belle. I have had a regular polish manicure before from Andrea, and she does a wonderful job and is very accommodating, kind, and professional with her customers.
I called earlier in the week and made a 6pm appointment for a gel manicure and their La Belle Spa pedicure.
When I arrived for my appointment, I had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get into a pedicure chair - it seemed that they had double or even triple booked themselves, as well as were attempting to accommodate walk-ins. It would have been nice to see that they gave some priority to their customers who called ahead to make appointments, rather than make them wait and have a walk-in customer take an empty chair over someone who made an appointment - otherwise, why even bother to make an appointment?
The pedicure was average at best and I was a bit disappointed. An older woman did my mani and pedi - I should have just paid for a "regular" pedicure because there was nothing about the service that she provided me that was "extra" in any way. I am still on a never ending hunt to find a salon in Pittsburgh that provides an actual spa pedicure when I pay for one. There was nothing more than lotion application, and literally 60 seconds of gel scrub. I was pretty irritated that the "spa" aspect of this pedicure was literally washed away 1 minute after application - no leg or foot massage at all either. The gel mani on the other hand was very good and she did a nice job on the application - but again, that's really all the service was -an application of gel polish. I expected a bit more for a 30.00 manicure -especially since when I got a polish mani from Andrea she gave a nice short hand massage, cuticle oil etc. - this older woman did not provide the same quality of service. I would hate to see their service decline because of a busy salon and having to accommodate so many customers.
I will book another appointment with Andrea specifically next time and update my review here. Overall, its not a bad place to get a basic mani/pedi and cross your fingers that you get Andrea for your appointment!
