| - After my last flight on US Air back from Reno to Phoenix, I can honestly say that I would rather have driven the 900+ miles in the biggest piece of junk car on the road today with or without air conditioning, a radio, any food, bad tires, a worn-out seat, and maybe a rusted-out muffler. I don't even care if took me two days and a tow truck.
I'm not sitting at the gate in Reno again and having the pilot come on the P.A. system and tell me the wing flaps are broken and we have to change planes and most likely miss our connection. Oh, did I mention they were so kind to give us a little card as we walked back through the gate that had an 800 number on it that we were supposed to call? Yeah. That was where everything went wrong. More wrong, if that's possible. It's a long story, but needless to say, they even screwed that part up. Incompetent doesn't even describe it. Now I dream of driving that piece of junk across the desert with a smile on my face the whole way. At least I'd have the pleasure of knowing I'm not sitting in an airport waiting for another flight to arrive some time later on but nobody knew when. Nobody. Never again. And if you see a junk car on the side of the highway between Reno and Phoenix with a guy sitting on the hood, please honk as you go by. It's me, and I'll be smiling.
