It takes something special to hold the interest of my 7th grade son, especially if doesn't have a screen and requires actual work! This is the only activity I've gotten him to try that he hasn't started losing interest in within a few practices/classes/lessons. Taekwondo gives him a goal to work towards, with milestones along the way to keep him motivated.
Without the Healey family, though, I don't think earning new belts, and eventually a black belt, would have been enough to keep him interested. They have created an amazing environment where my socially anxious and self-conscious son feels comfortable.
The difference I've seen in my son's confidence and attitude as well as the exercise he's finally getting is worth every penny!
